Bulgaria and Poland are calling for the immediate return and release of Ukrainian ships from Russia and the de-stressing of tension through dialogue. This was stated at a press conference by President Rumen Radev after a meeting with Polish President Andrzej Duda.
“During our meeting, we discussed with worry the critical relationship between Russia and Ukraine. And we call for restraint, for reason, for deescalation through dialogue, without the use of force, to guarantee the freedom of civilian shipping, for the immediate return and release of ships by the Russian Federation. For us as countries in this region, it is very important not to allow further escalation, “Radev said.
For his part, Polish Head of State Andrzej Duda explained that it is difficult to ignore what is happening.
“The Ukrainian sailors, who were captured by the Russian troops, must be released. (…) There is no doubt that Russia is an aggressor and once again there is a violation of the agreements concluded between Russia and Ukraine, “he said.
