Parliament adopted amendments to the State Budget Act for 2019 at first reading, FOCUS reported. The amendments were tabled by the Council of Ministers and “for” them voted 117 MPs, “against” were 90.
According to the texts for the period from 1 January to 30 June 2019, the amount of the state subsidy will be BGN 11 per actual vote. The reduction of the party subsidy from BGN 11 to BGN 1 will be valid for the period from 1 July to 31 December 2019. The bill provides for amendments to take effect from 1 July 2019.
On 6 June the government proposed that the state subsidy for the parties be reduced from BGN 11 to BGN 1 for a real vote. The announcement was announced by Prime Minister Boyko Borissov to the National Assembly after meeting with GERB members.
