The Parliamentary Group of GERB firmly supports the government’s decision to reduce the party subsidies to BGN 1. This is stated in a letter from GERB to the BSP parliamentary group on the occasion of an invitation by Cornelia Ninova to hold a meeting to discuss the forthcoming change in the amount of the party subsidy.
Moreover, GERB’s position on the issue was already clearly stated during the debate and the votes of the Council of Ministers’ proposal in the Budget and Finance Committee and in the plenary hall, the party notes.
The GERB letter also states that “according to the Constitution and the Rules of the National Assembly, any legislative change is discussed in the parliamentary committees and in the plenary hall. There MPs, citizens and non-governmental organizations have the necessary platforms to present their positions on various legislative proposals. ” At the end of the letter it is stated that GERB does not consider it necessary to hold an additional meeting on the subject.
