“From December 1st the visas for Canada will be removed”, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ekaterina Zaharieva said at the Bulgarian National Television. “From 4 pm on December 1st, Bulgarian citizens will be able to travel and stay in Canada without a visa for up to six months. This does not allow to work there, but business and tourism trips and visits to relatives will be visa-free”, Zaharieva commented.
“If citizens are traveling by plane, they will have to register on the web site of the Canadian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Registration is valid for five years, the fee is seven Canadian dollars”, explained the Bulgarian foreign minister. Zaharieva specified that there is no need for such a registration when traveling on land or sea. The Minister pointed out that Bulgarian citizens should know that these visa-free trips do not entitle them to work.
