Increased traffic is expected on major roads in the country. Before the Easter weekend, the traffic on the motorways and the border posts will be laden. Road Traffic Police have stepped up road controls, with patrol teams on the main road sections to track for intruders and support car traffic.
Traditionally, a large number of Bulgarians are on their way for the Easter holidays. Increased traffic is expected on major motorways, as well as at border crossings with Serbia and Greece. In some places it is possible to form plugs, warns the Traffic Police.
After 16 hours on Thursday, heavy goods vehicles over 12 tonnes will be stopped in order to facilitate traffic. Teams will also support movement around all of the temples, stations and airports, and on the eve of Easter there will be strong checks for drunk people. Road Traffic Police will create the same traffic organization on Monday when most holidaymakers come back.
