“Tomorrow we will allocate 27 million levs. The current hospital in Yambol is in pavilions and it is unacceptable”, said Prime Minister Boyko Borissov at a meeting with the leadership of the Multiprofile Hospital for Active Treatment “St. Panteleimon” in Yambol. Currently, the district hospital is housed in old buildings, the working conditions are not good, so there is a lack of medical staff.
At the meeting of the Council of Ministers tomorrow, according to the order of the Prime Minister Boyko Borissov, funds will be allocated for the relocation of the hospital to the nearby building under construction. This new 10-storey hospital block will have an area of 32,000 square meters with a capacity of up to 250 hospital beds.
Finance Minister Vladislav Goranov and Minister of Health Kiril Ananiev said that for a year and a half Yambol District Hospital will be moved to the new building. Improved conditions will attract doctors and nurses and will solve the problem with the material base. In parallel with this project, the emergency room to the hospital was reconstructed, amounting to 551,000 levs. There is also a repair of the Emergency Relief Center in the city, for which 482,000 levs have been allocated. The funding of these two projects is financed by European funds.
