“By October next year Hemus highway between Varna and Targovishte will be finished”, said Prime Minister Boyko Borissov during his visit to the seaside town. Together with the Minister of Finance Vladislav Goranov and Deputy Prime Minister Tomislav Donchev, he visited the newly built temple “St. Procopius of Varna”. “The money for the construction of Hemus highway is fully insured”, Borissov said. According to him, the payments of the builders will be made after the completion of the individual sites.
The Prime Minister added that the section between Targovishte and Veliko Tarnovo is currently being planned. According to him, the whole highway should be ready for up to 3 years, possibly 4 for the most difficult sections. “The construction of Hemus highway is urgent in order to ease the business in northern Bulgaria”, the Prime Minister said. He added that in this part of the country there are a lot of enterprises, which work for export and need good roads.
In the new-built temple, the Prime Minister and the ministers talked to the Metropolitan of Varna and Veliki Preslav Yoan, who pointed out that about 1 million levs are needed to complete the activities. He specified that he is ready to start painting the icons on the walls, which will cost about 620 thousand levs. “The most important thing right now is to mount the iconostasis and finish the floor heating”, the Metropolitan added.
He expressed his gratitude to the Prime Minister for the 200,000 levs granted by the government for the repair of the roof of the Cathedral in Varna. He recalled that the government also allocated funds for the construction of the new temple. According to him, the municipality of Varna has provided 1.4 million levs over the years.
