On August 15, we celebrate the Holy Virgin – one of the brightest Christian holidays in which the Holy Virgin left earthly life. Considered the patron saint of women, mothers and the hearth, Our Lady is the most revered saint in the Orthodox and Catholic churches.

The legend states that before the Holy Virgin Mary gave the Spirit to God, her son, Jesus Christ, descended to earth to take her soul.

On August 15 everyone celebrates with the names Maria, Masha, Marin, Marian, Marieta and Preslava.
