The expansion of the existing gas transmission system and the implementation of the overall concept of the Balkan hub “Gas” aim to preserve the role of the Republic of Bulgaria, as a leading commercial distribution center in the region and the European Union.

The project for the expansion of the gas transmission infrastructure – Balkan Stream is a priority of the Bulgarian government. Its aim is to increase the security of natural gas supply from various sources, to enhance competition and transparency in the natural gas market, which in turn will have a positive effect on natural gas consumers.
The contractor for the design, construction and putting into operation of the Strandzha gas metering station after the public procurement was the GBS – Transgaz DZZD. . The design, delivery and construction of the gas pipeline from the Bulgarian-Turkish border to the Strandzha gas-metering station amounts to BGN 47.9, VAT excluded. Bulgartransgaz EAD implements these facilities with its own funds.
